Tired of Replacing Chewed-Up Dog Toys?
Check out our top 10 indestructible dog toys that will withstand even the toughest chewers. If you're a dog parent, you know how frustrating it is to buy a "tough" toy only to find it destroyed in less than 15 minutes. With three dogs, we have tried many different kinds of dog toys to find some that will last.
Today, I'm going to share some of my favorites. What I need you to do as you read this is keep an open mind. None of these dog toys are filled with fluff, which is why we all have such a hard time finding hard-to-destroy dog toys. Many dog toys are stuffed, and guess what? That makes them easy to destroy. I swear that Stormy's only goal when she gets a stuffed dog toy is to get the stuffing out. So, I've started shopping for dog toys differently. I look for toys that keep my dogs busy or might even be labeled as "dog enrichment" toys. Since I started doing this, I've had a lot more luck finding toys that last. They aren't all successes, but today I will share with you my top 10 indestructible dog toys your chewer will love.

1. Kong Wobbler
The Kong Wobbler is a unique interactive dog toy that combines fun and functionality. It's designed to be filled with your dog's favorite treats or kibble, encouraging them to work for their reward. As your dog nudges and rolls the toy, the treats dispense, providing both mental and physical stimulation.
We’ve had ours for years, and I can say it truly is indestructible. It’s been batted across the floor more than I can count. Ours holds up to a cup of food, doubling as a slow feeder. I usually add a couple of small treats to help motivate my dogs to play with it. My 2 treat motivated dogs LOVE it, and even Zelda who doesn’t care about playing with her food will come and play with it.

2. Lacrosse Balls
Does your dog love to play fetch and then take the ball and chew on it until it’s destroyed? Then you need to give lacrosse balls a try. Yes, I am talking about actual balls that are used for the game of Lacrosse. Lacrosse balls offer a durable and engaging alternative to traditional tennis balls for your dog. Their solid rubber construction makes them highly resistant to punctures and chewing, ensuring longer-lasting playtime. Additionally, their slightly heavier weight can provide a more satisfying fetch experience for dogs who enjoy a bit of a challenge. Keep in mind that it's important to supervise playtime and avoid excessive chewing, but lacrosse balls can be a fantastic choice for dogs that love to fetch and chew.
I bought two of them 2 years ago on Amazon for Luci, and you can barely see the wear and tear. Luci is my dog, and she loves fetching with them. She will also chew on them. Interestingly enough, Stormy, who does not play fetch very often, but LOVES to chew on tennis balls leaves them alone. I guess the hard rubber isn’t as satisfying of a chew for her.

3. Potaroma Dog Puzzle Feeder Toy Electronic Dog Toy
We were lucky enough to be gifted this Potaroma dog toy by the company so we could share our impressions with you.
The Potaroma Dog Puzzle Feeder Toy is an interactive treat dispenser designed to stimulate your dog's mind and keep them entertained. This electronic toy features a compartment that can be filled with treats or kibble, challenging your dog to push a button and then run to the treat dispenser to retrieve the treat.
This is a high-tech dog toy, so I’ve made a YouTube video if you would like to see it in action.

I’ve put this dog toy on my list of indestructible dog toys because it would be pretty hard for your dog to destroy it. Even the toughest chewer, isn’t going to want to chew on it because they will be focused on getting the treats out. That being said, you will have to train your dog on how to use it. For us, that was part of the fun. Potaroma does provide a QR code to a YouTube list with instructions on how to train your dog. We followed the instructions and Stormy was using it in no time.
This is a toy that is perfect for your high-energy, food-motivated dog. You can put about 80 feet between the remote and the dispenser. So you can have your dog running back and forth between the two while getting out energy.
4. Nylabone Femur
The Nylabone Femur is a durable chew toy designed to satisfy your dog's natural chewing instincts. Crafted from tough nylon, it's virtually indestructible, making it a great choice for aggressive chewers. The unique bone shape provides multiple chewing surfaces, helping to clean teeth and reduce plaque buildup. Additionally, the chew toy's flavor and texture can help alleviate boredom and anxiety.
In my opinion, Nylabone makes some of the best dog toys for aggressive chewers, but the Nylabone Femur hits differently with my dogs. I don’t know if it’s the texture or the flavor, but they will search it out in the sea of dental dog chews in their toy box. We usually have a couple on hand. They do not last forever because eventually their teeth wear down the nylon, but they are extremely durable dog toys that are perfect for the aggressive chewer. I think in 6 years, we’ve only had to replace them once. We lovingly referred to our first one as “Luci’s Shank” because she had gnawed it down to a point at one end.

5. Pineapple Dog Toy
I never would have bought this dog toy. It looks cheaply made, the hole for the treats or kibble isn’t very big, and I have no idea why it has the holes in the sides. BUT, here it is on my list. Stormy got this Pineapple treat dispensing dog toy as a birthday present for her first birthday, and we still have it. Making it truly an indestructible dog toy.
The pineapple is made of durable rubber, and the pineapple shape makes the toy bounce erratically when you toss it on the ground. So when I throw it the dogs have fun chasing it because they can’t tell where it’s going to go.
It’s even more fun for them when it’s filled with treats or kibble because they have fun trying to get them out. It’s similar to the Kong Wobbler because the treats come out when your dog bats or rolls it around. After so many years of use, the only wear and tear on it are a few bite marks on the top of the pineapple making it a truly tough dog toy.

6. Snuffle Mats
If you have a dog, you need a snuffle mat. Snuffle mats are a great way to slow down your dog's mealtime and provide mental stimulation. These mats are typically made of fleece or other soft materials with hidden pockets and crevices. You can scatter your dog's kibble or treats within the mat, encouraging them to use their sense of smell to find their food. This foraging activity can help reduce boredom, anxiety, and destructive behaviors. Snuffle mats are a fun and rewarding way to keep your furry friend engaged and happy.
Because your dogs forage for food from them and then forget them, they made my list of indestructible toys for dogs. I have 3, and none of them have had any wear and tear except for a little pilling from being thrown in the washing machine. There are so many different types of snuffle mats that you can try, but the video below showcases the 3 we have.

Below are the affiliate links for each of them if you want to see them on Amazon
I use these a couple of times a week at dinnertime. I add their kibble with a few treats and then place the mats in each of the dog’s spots. I usually rotate which dog gets which mat, and I can honestly say that they all seem to like them equally.
Something that I find really funny is that once they are all done eating from their assigned snuffle mat they will switch mats to make sure that the other mats are all empty. Sometimes it’s up to an hour before all 3 dogs have checked out all three mats. It’s toys like these snuffle mats that I was talking about when I said you have to think outside of the box when it comes to indestructible dog toys. These snuffle mats provide my dogs with lots of entertainment and enrichment, but they aren’t what most people think of when they think of dog toys for aggressive chewers.
7. Classic Kong
You know the Kong, EVERYONE knows the Kong. The Classic Kong is a legendary dog toy known for its durability and versatility. Its unique rubber construction is tough enough to withstand even the most aggressive chewers. The hollow center can be filled with treats, kibble, or peanut butter, providing hours of mental and physical stimulation. The Kong's unpredictable bounce and texture make it a favorite for fetch and chew play. Whether you want to tire out an energetic pup or soothe an anxious dog, the Classic Kong is a timeless choice.
Kongs have saved my sanity over the years on days when the dogs have more energy than I do. I’ve been so thankful just to be able to grab them out of the freezer so they can enjoy their frozen treat.
We have about 6 Classic Kongs, maybe more. I was lucky enough to get a stash once from a garage sale. We’ve got one of the pink ones for puppies, various sizes of the red one, and an extreme chewer black Kong. I fill the hole with kibble for the dogs and then “close” it up with a peanut butter topping. Then I freeze them. They LOVE it when I give them a Kong.
As far as durability, they are very tough dog toys but you need the right Kong for the right dog. My most aggressive chewer is Stormy, and she almost destroyed one of our smaller Kongs. It makes sense in hindsight because it was too small for her. So if you are going to buy a Kong for your dog, get the right size. AND if you really have an aggressive chewer try the Black Kongs because they are made of a more durable material.
If you want to check out the Classic Kong, you can find them at my affiliate link on Amazon HERE.
8. Outward Hound by Nina Ottosson Lickin' Layers Dog Puzzle
The Outward Hound Lickin' Layers Dog Puzzle is a fun and challenging slow feeder for your dog. It has 3 layers that dogs can spin around with many compartments for treats or kibble. They claim it holds 1.5 cups of dog food. I feel that might be too much, but I usually fill it with a cup of kibble easily.
It’s another dog toy that won’t be destroyed because your dogs are only interested in it when it’s full. Except for Stormy, she will dig it out of the toy box and bring it to me to fill. She loves it.
Here’s a short video we have on Youtube if you want to see how it works.

Of my 3 dogs, Zelda can’t figure it out. She’s also not very food motivated, so this might not be the best dog toy for dogs who aren’t food motivated.

9. PetStages Dogwood Chew Toy
I’ve focused a lot on dog toys that need food to be played with, so I wanted to mention another of our favorite dog chew toys that lasts. The Petstages Dogwood Wood Alternative Dog Chew Toy is a safe and durable chew toy made from a unique blend of natural fibers. Designed to mimic the taste and texture of real wood, this chew toy helps to satisfy your dog's natural chewing instincts. The durable material is tough enough to withstand even the most aggressive chewers, while the natural fibers help to promote healthy dental hygiene. The Dogwood Chew Toy is a great way to keep your dog entertained and their teeth clean.
Luci loves this. She will chew on it for a very long time. So the toy is perfect for the dog that likes to sit and gnaw on something. Like really, it keeps her busy for hours. This toy does get worn down with use, but it is still a very durable dog toy. I have replaced ours once in the last 3 years because the first one got worn down so much.

The dogwood chew toy is also the toy that Luci wants to play fetch with in the house. No clue how she knows it’s a stick, but she will bring it to me to throw. It’s hard as a rock, so I don’t throw it far, but throwing it keeps her entertained too.
It comes in a variety of sizes that you can see on Amazon at my affiliate link.
10. Starmark Everlasting Treat Bento Ball
I’m finishing up my list of 10 indestructible dog toys with the Starmark Everlasting Treat Bento Ball. I cannot say enough good things about this dog toy. My dogs lose their minds when I bring them out. Yes, I do have multiple of these Bento Balls. Yes, if they did destroy them, I would buy them again. I also get the treats that go inside them every month.
Without seeing the toy in action it’s hard to describe, so I’ve added my YouTube video below.

The only negative thing I can say is that you do need to buy their specific treats to be able to use them, but they are worth it. All three of my dogs will work on getting the treat out of the toy for as long as I let them. That being said, the treat inside is not meant to be eaten all in one sitting. BUT, Stormy is determined enough to get it out if she has it long enough. So I limit their time with the Starmark Bento Ball to 20-minute sessions. During those sessions, all three of my dogs are quiet and focused on the toy.
